Dr. Blanda Sumayao came to work out her research sponsored by SEARCA in Cheingmai and Bangkok a week before leaving from Bangkok on 4th March . This is her e-mail talked about her experience and feeling when she was in Thailand.

Dear everyone,

Greetings from the Philippines! My plane touched down last night at exactly 7:00PM, Philippine time. And I was home at around 10:00PM. A UPLBFI van and a staff met me at the airport. So it was a very smooth trip from BKK to MLA. and surely I had a good night rest. I only got up because of the ringing of my phone. A friend was calling me to welcome me back home after an 11-day absence.

 Thank you all very much for the very wonderful Thai hospitality you gave me from the time I arrived the Chiang Mai International Airport to the time I left the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International airport. It was an effortless and trouble-free flight all because of all the arrangements you made coupled by the wheelchair assistance given me by TG. Maraming maraming salamat po!

My mission to Chiang Mai and also to BKK were all accomplished. And I got extras pa - the Walking Street in Chiang Mai, the Royal Flora (my mouth watered when I saw the very exquisite blooms of the orchids especially the rare ones), the Chatuchak market (now JJ Mall) for my pasalubong, and of course the Happy Farm of Dr. Jinda and her family. This one is for Dr. Pon and his students for their agritourism practical activities. Of course, I will be sorry if I fail to mention the graduation ceremonies at MJU where I got the opportunity to join the graduation procession (despite my aching left foot!) and watched (on a laptop) how graduates received their certificates from the Princess herself! Oh, that experience is a first in my life. Now I know why Dr. Pon told me "Graduation, Ma'am for the whole day."!!!

It is now "business as usual" now that I am back here. This afternoon, Filma and I will meet to talk about the research project we both are involved in. Then tomorrow it will be meeting with the Evaluation Team of the PEN (Philippine Extension Network) where they asked me to chair. We will talk about one activity of the Convention in May, which is the search for the Best Extension Project, Best Extension Research Paper, and Best Extensionist. The recommendees will be evaluated by my Committee and the awards will be given in May. This time, the Convention will be in Aklan, southern part of the
Philippines where the noted Boracay resort is found. We will be there for 5 days (to include touristic activities!).

Again, maraming maraming salamat. I pray to God for your continued success, prosperity, good health, and as Dr. Jinda advocates, HAPPINESS!
